The highly distinctive work of Milwaukee native Reginald Baylor will be on display at the Schlueter Gallery this summer. Baylor transforms people, landscapes, neighborhood houses and city buildings into compositions of basic geometric shapes. Each pristinely outlined form is comprised of bright, flat color modulations creating an immaculate and dream-like world.
This exhibit is sponsored in part by Pathways to College.

This fall, John Bergmeier of Michigan and Milwaukee native Paula Schulze will show works of printmaking and mixed media in a joint exhibition. Bergmeier is intrigued by life's "intertwining of so-called coincidences and the selective road that we all have to travel." His earth-toned mixed media works layer symbols and found artifacts creating memorials of personal and Biblical narratives.
Paula Schulze's soft monochromatic charcoal drawings and mezzotints explore how formal elements create order in space. Her abstract, patterned work draws inspiration from pre- and early-Renaissance ornamentation and Islamic geometry rooted in sacred architecture.
