Senior Director of Finance at Erin Hills Golf Course
If you could relive one day from your college years, which would it be and why?
I would relive my senior football season when we beat Hope College for the first and only time in program history. The game was a milestone win for the program given that Hope was a perennial power.
Who at WLC impacted you the most?
Coach Dennis Miller (pictured) – the Lord was strongly connected to the football program through prayer, devotions, and the way Coach Miller and his assistant coaches spoke and carried themselves. Ultimately, he was a strong leader who truly cared for his players, and he is the absolute foundation of Warriors football.
Prof. Heather Stelzer helped instill a strong work ethic and detail-oriented approach to business finance. Prof. Dan Eastman brought multiple real-world business applications to the classroom which greatly helped me develop my business acumen and trust my common sense when it comes to big-picture business strategy.
What’s your proudest accomplishment since graduation?
I have received multiple promotions at Erin Hills Golf Course all while we hosted multiple USGA events, highlighted by the 2017 U.S. Open and 2025 U.S. Women’s Open. Completing my master’s degree in Sports Management while working at Erin Hills stands out as another major accomplishment.
If you could give your college-age self one piece of advice, what would it be?
My advice would be to watch more investment-focused programs and begin investing in the stock market more aggressively, even if only with small amounts that a college student can afford. Since graduating, I have become more involved in the stock market, and shows on Fox Business and CNBC, such as Making Money with Charles Payne and Mad Money with Jim Cramer, have played a role in improving my returns. In an era dominated by instant gratification and the growing prevalence of sports betting, this advice is more relevant than ever for college students. While a sports bet can double your money, just as easily as it can wipe you out. Long-term investing offers a far more favorable risk-reward profile. Although it is possible to lose money in stocks, it is far less likely over time, and the potential upside can be 1,000% or more.
What song instantly transports you back to your WLC days?
Country Roads by John Denver takes me back!
What’s one thing you hope future Warriors experience that meant a lot to you?
I hope future Warriors continue to experience a college education with a lower student-to-professor ratio than that of large universities. This environment creates genuine connections with professors and enhances the learning experience. It also cultivates strong Christian relationships and connections that can be built upon, valued, and carried with you for the rest of your life.
Finish the sentence: “Being a Warrior means…”
You unapologetically live for an audience of One and are loyal to the Word of God no matter what the secular world says.
