MEET NATE HAMILTON '08

Major: Interdisciplinary Studies
Chief Operating Officer at GO Riteway Transportation Group

If you could relive one day from your college years, which would it be and why?

My favorite college experience was the opportunity to travel to places I had not experienced before, whether it was our European Choir Tour or our Grenada Mission Trip. Not only was it exciting to explore the various cultures and life around the world, but I was excited to represent WLC and share faith and servant leadership through numerous unique opportunities.

Who at WLC impacted you the most?

For me, Dr. James Nowack and Dorothy Nowack were extremely impactful during my time at WLC. Their encouragement and mentoring throughout the years in music and academic studies helped shape my success in college and my life after I graduated.

What’s your proudest accomplishment since graduation?

I am blessed to have the career success and opportunities that WLC prepared me for. I started in the education field at the HOPE Schools in Milwaukee, and through connections I made I landed in the student transportation industry. It is a unique business and every day is different, and I am able to apply my studies in both business and education from my time at WLC. I now oversee our school bus operations at GO Riteway for over 50 school districts across the state of Wisconsin.

If you could give your college-age self one piece of advice, what would it be?

Don’t skip your early AM class to sleep in … it’s not going to help you in the long run!

What song instantly transports you back to your WLC days?

Abide With Me – the Wisconsin Lutheran Choir “anthem!”

WLC is such a welcoming community of individuals – it was easy to make genuine friendships with a number of people with diverse backgrounds and experiences that made my college experience great.

Finish the sentence: “Being a Warrior means…”

Being a Christian servant leader in all aspects of life.
