Bachelor’s Degree in Education: Broadfield Social Studies and History
Title: Academic Advisor for the College of Professional Studies, Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach, and Assistant Softball
Coach Brook has served WLC since 1998 in a variety of roles including Women’s Soccer Head Coach, Baseball Head Coach, as well as Assistant Football Coach
What do you enjoy most about your role at WLC?
I really enjoy the relationships built while coaching and advising the undergraduate and graduate students I work with at WLC.
Who has had the greatest influence on you during your time at WLC?
I have had so many good mentors, so this is really hard to answer - in chronological order: Joel Mischke, Paul Knueppel, Dennis Miller, and Skip Noon. Honestly, I would not have the career I have without these WLC men.
How can alumni and the college’s supporters impact what you do for WLC?
Quite simply, alumni can enthusiastically share what WLC is all about with every prospect they come across. We are getting more well known, but spread the word that our college is incredibly different - our foundational statement and great commission as Christians direct our efforts.
What is one thing you’d tell a freshman they need to experience during their time as a student at WLC?
Get involved in something on campus immediately - get connected - take a high interest area and develop strong relationships with others who share it. Athletics, clubs, organizations, student events - get involved with your peers.
Name one area where WLC has seen the most growth since you were a student.
Since my time has been about 90% in athletics, I would say the growth in that department has been incredible, from teams and facilities to support.
What hasn’t changed at WLC since you were a student?
WLC Athletics has phenomenal coaches and support staff. The people in that department maximize their love for student-athletes with their God-given talents to create a great college experience. (Don't roast me faculty, please - you're incredible too!)
Share one fun fact about yourself that others may not know.
I pitched pregame batting practice for the Milwaukee Brewers in the summer of 1999 - thanks to Chuck Garbedian for hooking me up with Phil Garner. [Editor’s Note: Brook played professional baseball in the San Francisco Giants organization from 1993-1996.]
