

WLC Ranked as a Top College

MILWAUKEE - For 2026, U.S. News & World Report ranks Wisconsin Lutheran College (WLC) 19th among Regional Colleges in the Midwest. Schools in the Best Regional Colleges category focus almost entirely on the undergraduate experience and offer a broad range of programs in the liberal arts and in fields such as business, nursing, and education. WLC is the only Wisconsin institution ranked in the Top 20 Regional Colleges in the Midwest.
WLC is included in the U.S. News rankings for Best Value Schools, rated 12th among Regional Colleges in the Midwest.
The college is also included in the Top Performers on Social Mobility rankings at #30 among Regional Colleges in the Midwest. This category rates how well schools graduated students who received Pell Grants.
In other rankings that were released recently:
- For 2026, Niche rated Wisconsin Lutheran College among the Top 40 Christian colleges in the country and named WLC the #2 small college in Wisconsin. WLC’s residence halls are rated 12th in the nation and 1st in the state. Other notable statewide rankings include being named the #3 top private university in Wisconsin, 3rd best campus in the state, 3rd best college in Wisconsin for studying education and business, and 4th best for studying biology.
- For 2025, Wisconsin Lutheran College is nationally ranked by Washington Monthly in the category of Bachelor’s Colleges. The list rates schools based on social mobility, research, and promoting public service. Washington Monthly also included WLC in its list of America’s Best Bang for the Buck Colleges.
