Background
I was born and raised in California. Now credentialed in both California and Wisconsin, I maintain my status as a National Board-Certified Teacher and Master Instructor. I taught 1st through 5th grades in public and private elementary schools for 26 years before accepting a divine call in 2024 to teach literacy in WLC’s School of Education.
I live with my husband, Lyle, in Franklin and love canoeing, camping, and gardening in my free time. I have three daughters (and seven grandchildren) who live in Wisconsin and Minnesota.
I love sharing my love for teaching with prospective teachers going into the field and believe that God places each person in our lives for a divine purpose. WLC is a special place, and the experiences this college provides shapes each of us for boldly and confidently proclaiming God’s love for all people! My husband and I are members of St. John’s Milwaukee.

Research Interests
I am currently working on my doctorate in Strategic Educational Leadership with a focus on Instructional Literacy through National Louis University in Chicago. I am excited to explore options for research with a focus on student anxiety and the impact it has on learning. I’m also interested in research-based methods to strengthen both academic and emotional literacy in English Language Learners.
