Why did you choose WLC?

I chose Wisconsin Lutheran College primarily for the Christian atmosphere on campus, but also because I was excited to be able to play women's soccer and basketball.

Tell us about your favorite WLC experience.

It is hard to pick just one because I had so many great experiences during my WLC years. My top two are meeting my husband, Owen, who was on the men's soccer team, and being roommates freshman year with my best friend from preschool. (We lived states away from each other from 7th grade through high school.)

Who is your favorite WLC professor or staff member?

2008-events-staff-photo.jpgA favorite staff member of mine was Karen Plamann. As the director of events and conference, she taught me a lot of things that I was able to transfer into my professional life after college. I loved how she always remembered the birthdays of her “worker-bees.” I miss working events for her.

What have you accomplished on your bucket list since graduation?

During my first year out of college, I was able to participate in one year of national service through AmeriCorps. I completed two half-marathons; one was in Disneyland and the other in Madison. I also became an event planner and served in different capacities before taking on the greatest calling in my life: being a boy mom. I have two boys, Leland and Elliott. My family is truly one of the greatest blessings in my life.

What is next on your bucket list to complete?

I would love to travel to Japan to see where my dad was born and grew up. I also hope to one day be back working on WLC's campus.

"I had a wonderful experience at WLC and received a great Christian education that prepared me to serve others outside of its college walls. I am forever grateful for all of the donors who made it possible for me to be there, and I want to give back so other students can have the same opportunity."
