December Commencement

GENERAL INFORMATION
- CEREMONY AND RECEPTION: WLC's Winter 2025 commencement ceremony will begin at 7:00 p.m. and should last approximately one hour. The ceremony will be followed by a light dessert reception in the Time of Grace Center for graduates and their guests.
- The following items are not allowed in the Time of Grace Center during commencement:
- Balloons
- Air horns, whistles, and other noisemakers
- Silly String
- Large banners
- Anything that will obstruct the view of other guests or prevent them from enjoying the ceremony
- The following items are not allowed in the Time of Grace Center during commencement:
- TICKETS: Free tickets are required for admission.
- Doors will open for ticketed guests at 6:00 p.m. TICKETS are REQUIRED for entry. Seating is general admission on a first-come, first-served basis - no seats may be claimed or reserved prior to 6:00 p.m.
- Handicapped-accessible seating will be available.
- If a baby or toddler will be occupying a seat or sitting in a car seat that's on a chair, they will need a ticket. If they will be sitting on someone's lap for the entire event, they do not require a ticket.
- Each graduating student will receive 10 tickets for their guests. Additional information about the ticketing process will be shared with graduates via email. There will be no additional tickets available at the door.
- Doors will open for ticketed guests at 6:00 p.m. TICKETS are REQUIRED for entry. Seating is general admission on a first-come, first-served basis - no seats may be claimed or reserved prior to 6:00 p.m.
- PARKING: Free parking will be available on a first-come, first-served basis in WLC's Parking Center (8701 W. Wisconsin Avenue). Area streets are also available for parking. Please follow posted parking restrictions on the streets near the college, and be respectful of our neighbors so they can access their driveways. A campus map and directions are available on the website.
- LIVESTREAM: Family members and friends who are unable to attend may watch the event online.
- HOTELS: WLC's hotel partners are listed on the main commencement page. Discounted rates may be available.
- PHOTOGRAPHY: Professional photos from the ceremony will be available from the photographer's website the week after commencement.

INFORMATION FOR GRADUATES
- ACADEMIC PROCESSION: All graduating students should meet in the Recreation Complex - Siebert Center at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday, December 11 to line up for the academic procession. Please leave coats, purses, etc. with family members; do not leave anything in the Siebert Center.
- ANNOUNCEMENTS AND FRAMES: You may order graduation announcements, a diploma frame, or other products directly from Jostens.
- CAPS AND GOWNS: Caps and gowns are ordered based on the information students provided in the graduation application. Graduating students will receive instructions for picking up their caps and gowns in early December.
- EMAILS: Students who applied to graduate in December will receive updates via their WLC email account in mid-October, mid-November, and during Finals Week.
- HONOR CORDS: Honor cords for military service will be distributed on commencement day to those who have notified the Registrar's Office of their service. Cords for Latin academic honors will be given to eligible undergraduate students on commencement day.
- REHEARSAL: A mandatory commencement rehearsal for all graduating students will be on Thursday, December 11 at 4:00 p.m. in the Time of Grace Center. It will last approximately 30 minutes.
