The Wisconsin Lutheran College Schlueter Art Gallery is proud to present the work of William Bukowski and Karen Goetzinger.

Bukowski head shotWilliam Bukowski is a representational painter from Mankato, Minnesota. He has participated in more than 200 juried, one-person, and group exhibitions. William has artwork in many public and private collections. He has been influenced by the European tradition of realist painting and loves to work en plein air, painting landscapes on location. William paints ordinary places singled out for their unique beauty. For inspiration and enrichment, he travels to Europe with particular emphasis to Italy. William taught for 40 years at Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato.

Goetzinger head shotKaren Goetzinger is an abstract painter, born and raised in Milwaukee, who has lived in Minnesota, New York, and Ottawa, Ontario; she recently returned to her roots in Milwaukee. Through the use of mixed media, Karen expressively marks the imprint of beauty in the seemingly inconsequential and imperfect things of life. Colors and marks push off the edges of her large-scale canvases with an unrestrained freedom. Karen’s work has been shown in exhibition spaces throughout North America and in China and Australia and hangs in international private and corporate collections.
