WLC Welcomes Its Second-largest Freshman Class

MILWAUKEE, WI -  Wisconsin Lutheran College (WLC) announced today an increase of 31.9% in freshman enrollment for the 2020-2021 academic year.

“Wisconsin Lutheran College has been truly blessed at a time when our world is facing unimaginable challenges,” said Dr. Daniel W. Johnson, president of WLC.

Not only is higher education navigating the realities of COVID-19, but it is also contending with an overall population decline of incoming undergraduate students over the next decade.

The total number of freshmen enrolled this fall is the college's second-highest on record; the record occurred in fall 2018.

“Students today are looking for robust and nationally recognized academic offerings, a commitment to faculty-student mentorships, hands-on research opportunities, partnerships with other institutions for those seeking advanced degrees, and exceptional student life experiences,” said Dr. Johnson. “We continue to attract bright, talented men and women because we are unwavering in our commitment to advancing our student offerings to meet their individual needs for academic growth and to continue to prepare our students to serve the world as Christian servant leaders.”
