MILWAUKEE – American pianist Jeffrey Siegel continues the 2009-2010 Keyboard Conversations® Series with "Chopin the Patriot" on Wednesday, December 16, 2009, at Wisconsin Lutheran College. The performance begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Schwan Concert Hall.

This season, Siegel is "Celebrating Chopin" in his four-part series. The Polonaise and the Mazurka, two nationalistic Polish dances, had special meaning for this proud Polish composer. The program includes Three Polonaises: the tender G Minor of the 8-year-old genius, the brooding C Minor and the ever-popular heroic A Flat, as well as several buoyant and poignant Mazurkas, perhaps Chopin's most personal works.

Siegel's enthusiasm is contagious, his credentials are world-class and his virtuosity is astounding. His performances begin with an insightful and entertaining prologue on the music and its composer, are followed by a full performance of the works and end with a lively question and answer session.

Jeffrey Siegel is sponsored in part by the Wisconsin Arts Board and Waterstone Bank. The Schwan Concert Hall is located in the college's Center for Arts and Performance at 8815 W. Wisconsin Ave. Tickets are $33 general, $30 seniors and $12 students. To purchase tickets, call the WLC box office at (414) 443-8802 or visit wlc.edu/arts.

Since 1996, the Wisconsin Lutheran College Center for Arts and Performance has been providing a comprehensive program of performing and visual arts and educational and community events for students and the people of southeastern Wisconsin.
