MILWAUKEE – American pianist Jeffrey Siegel kicks off the 2009-2010 Keyboard Conversations® Series with "Chopin for Lovers" on Wednesday, September 16, 2009, at Wisconsin Lutheran College. The performance begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Schwan Concert Hall.
This season, Siegel is "Celebrating Chopin" in his four-part series. The first concert features compositions inspired by different women in the Chopin's love life! The vivacious E Flat Waltz, the touching Farewell Waltz, the dreamy Larghetto Opus 21, some of the demonic Preludes from Opus 28, and the famous Fantasy Impromptu.
Siegel's enthusiasm is contagious, his credentials are world-class and his virtuosity is astounding. His performances begin with an insightful and entertaining prologue on the music and its composer, are followed by a full performance of the works and end with a lively question and answer session.
Jeffrey Siegel is sponsored in part by the Wisconsin Arts Board and Waterstone Bank. The Schwan Concert Hall is located in the college's Center for Arts and Performance at 8815 W. Wisconsin Ave. Tickets are $33 general, $30 seniors and $12 students. To purchase tickets, call the WLC box office at (414) 443-8802 or visit wlc.edu/arts.
