Date Posted: April 28, 2009

MILWAUKEE – Figuratively Speaking: The works of Reginald Baylor will be on display June 5 through July 24 at Wisconsin Lutheran College in the Schlueter Art Gallery.

Milwaukee native Reginald Baylor transforms people, landscapes, neighborhood houses and city buildings into compositions of basic geometric shapes. Each pristinely outlined form is comprised of bright, flat color modulations creating an immaculate and dream-like world.

Baylor is an active member of the art community serving as the chairperson for the Milwaukee County Public Art Committee. He has displayed his work throughout Wisconsin, California and New York.

The Schlueter Art Gallery is located in the Center for Arts and Performance, 8815 West Wisconsin Avenue. This free exhibition is sponsored in part by Pathways to College and open to the public. An opening reception is scheduled for Friday, June 5 from 6 – 8 p.m.
