Illustrator Bonnie Leick to hold exhibition in the Schlueter Art Gallery

MILWAUKEE – Wisconsin Lutheran College is holding an invitational exhibition by local artist  on October 16 through November 14 in the Schlueter Art Gallery. This is the fourth annual show of children’s book illustrators.

Bonnie Leick earned a B.F.A. in film/video character animation from the California Institute of the Arts in Valencia. She has worked on various projects for Disney, Random House/Golden Books and Warner Brothers. Illustrations from Leick’s books Alien Invaders and her new book Bella Luna by Raven Tree Press will be on exhibit. This project is sponsored in part by Wisconsin Center for the Book, an affiliate of the Woodland Pattern Book Center, Milwaukee.

An artist talk is scheduled for Thursday, October 16 at 4 p.m. in the Reichel Lecture Hall. An opening reception and book signing will follow at 6:30 p.m. in the Schlueter Art Gallery. Both events take place in the Center for Arts and Performance, 8815 W. Wisconsin Avenue. Gallery hours are Monday through Saturday 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. and Sunday 1 – 9 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.
