Gary’s Gallop is a tribute to the late Dr. Gary J. Greenfield, the first full-time president of Wisconsin Lutheran College. The annual race attracts more than 200 participants on its scenic course through Underwood Parkway and the WLC Outdoor Athletic Complex.

Online registration is now closed, but walk-up participants can register the morning of the race for $20. Registration includes a long-sleeve T-shirt, a light breakfast and lunch and awards to male and female runners in each age division. Funds raised at the 2008 Gary’s Gallop will be matched up to $1,600 thanks to the West Central Milwaukee Chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. All proceeds from the race support the Warrior Club, WLC’s athletic booster organization.

A free kids’ race for those ages 12 and younger will also take place at 10:30 a.m. A Kids’ Corner will be set up on the track to entertain kids during the adult race. After the adult race, kids will be invited to run around the track. Each registered participant will receive a T-shirt and a ribbon as they cross the finish line.
