Folk Singer Tom Chapin to Perform at Wisconsin Lutheran College

MILWAUKEE – Three-time Grammy® Award winner Tom Chapin will perform for families of all ages February 17, 2008 at Wisconsin Lutheran College. The performance begins at 3 p.m. in the Schwan Concert Hall.
Chapin’s music spans styles and generations. For more than 30 years and 19 compact discs, Chapin has entertained, amused and enlightened audiences with life-affirming original songs. His remarkable musicianship, great songwriting and personal warmth shine through in every performance. The New York Times calls Chapin, “one of the great personalities in contemporary folk music.” His family albums have been recognized with awards from the American Library Association, Parents’ Choice, the New York Music Awards, the National Association of Parenting Publications and Parents magazine.
The Wisconsin Lutheran Children’s Choir, under the direction of Marjorie Flanagan, choral director and coordinator in the fine arts department at Wisconsin Lutheran High School, will join Chapin on stage for a joint performance during the show. The 35 member choir consists of children in fourth through eighth grades who complete an audition process. These children are from Milwaukee area Lutheran elementary schools.
Tom Chapin is sponsored in part by the Wisconsin Arts Board and Wauwatosa Savings Bank. The Schwan Concert Hall is located in the college’s Center for Arts and Performance at 8815 W.
