Wisconsin Lutheran College Choirs to Give Christmas Festival Concert

MILWAUKEE - To usher in the holiday season, the Wisconsin Lutheran Choir, Chamber Choir and Chapel Choir will perform a Christmas Festival Concert of sacred works Friday and Saturday, December 2-3 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, December 4 at 3 p.m. in the Schwan Concert Hall. Tickets are $5 general, $4 seniors and $2 students and may be purchased through the box office at (414) 443-8802 or online at wlc.edu/arts.
The program, titled "Shine in My Heart, Lord Jesus," will include "For Unto Us a Child is Born" from The Messiah by G.F. Handel, "Lux Aurumque" by contemporary composer Eric Whitacre, "Wake, Awake" by F. Melius Christiansen and "Here is the Little Door" by Herbert Howells. The audience is invited to sing along with familiar favorites.
The 55-voice Wisconsin Lutheran Choir and the 23-voice Chamber Choir perform under the direction of Dr. James Nowack. Ms. Carolyn Fons directs the 27-voice Chapel Choir. A festival orchestra will accompany the choirs for this perennial favorite. The Schwan Concert Hall is located in the college's Center for Arts and Performance, 8815 W. Wisconsin Ave.
