Area schools to participate in 2013 Jazz Festival

MILWAUKEE – Student instrumentalists from Wisconsin and their directors will attend Wisconsin Lutheran College's 2013 Jazz Festival on Saturday, January 19. This all-day event culminates in a joint Festival Concert at 7 p.m. in the Schwan Concert Hall.
Some of the concert selections will include 'Round Midnight, Georgia On My Mind, and How High the Moon.
Participating schools are Fox Valley Lutheran High School (Appleton), Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School (Jackson), Lakeside Lutheran High School (Lake Mills), Luther Preparatory School (Watertown), and Wisconsin Lutheran High School (Milwaukee).
School ensembles participating in the Jazz Festival will take part in performance clinics and master classes, with professional musicians serving as clinicians. The clinicians, who also will be featured soloists at the concert, are Eric Jacobson (trumpet), Bill Nelson (saxophone), Tyler Burmeister (trumpet), Randy Hake (trombone), and Steve Zenz (percussion).
