Free event features a mother-daughter collaboration

MILWAUKEE  If you are looking for a Mother's Day treat, come to a special concert on Sunday, May 8 with the Chamber Strings of Wisconsin Lutheran College, conducted by Jerome Franke.

The 4:30 p.m. performance will highlight the mother-daughter collaboration of Samantha George (associate professor of violin at Lawrence University) and Patricia George (internationally known flute pedagogue and consulting editor of Flute Talk Magazine). The hour-long concert in the Schwan Concert Hall is free and open to the public. It showcases Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No. 5, Corelli's Concerto Grosso No. 1, and a suite of English folk songs by American composer Thom Ritter George.

The Schwan Concert Hall is located in the college's Center for Arts and Performance, 8815 W. Wisconsin Avenue.
