MILWAUKEE – Relive the past as the Newtonburg Brass Band plays at the Summer Arts in the Park program, a free concert series at Wisconsin Lutheran College, on Thursday, July 15 at 6:30 p.m.
The Newtonburg Brass Band is a lighthearted recreation of an early 1900s small town brass band. Thirteen musicians in authentic attire perform the music that was once the primary source of culture and entertainment in small town America before the days of automobiles, radios and television.
Summer Arts in the Park takes place at 8800 West Bluemound Road on the campus courtyard located between Bluemound Road and Wisconsin Avenue at 89th Street. The performances will be held indoors if raining. Food and beverages will be available for purchase starting at 5 p.m. Wisconsin Lutheran College is an alcohol-free campus. For further information, please call the box office at (414) 443-8802 or visit wlc.edu/arts.
Summer Arts in the Park is sponsored in part by Luther Haven, Pepsi, Waterstone Bank, Wisconsin Arts Board and Wisconsin Lutheran College Friends of the Arts.
