Background

During the course of my nursing career I have had a strong interest in medical/surgical nursing, primarily with an acute care cardiovascular focus. After a two-year internship at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Milwaukee, I began my nursing career in Eau Claire in 2004 on a Medical/Telemetry/Oncology unit. In 2005, my husband and I moved to San Jose, California, where I worked at Good Samaritan Hospital. There, my primary focus was on a Cardiovascular Pulmonary and Progressive Care Unit. I was also given the opportunity to work on many other units when needed, including Neurology, Orthopedic, Surgical, Medical, Oncology, and Short Stay. I worked closely with many members of the California Nurses Association during that time. In 2011, I started working in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab. In 2013, my family and I moved back to Wisconsin. I worked in the Intensive Care Unit at Community Memorial Hospital in Menomonee Falls. I was asked to adjunct as a clinical instructor at WLC during the spring 2014. In the summer of 2014, I accepted a full time call to be an Instructor of Nursing at WLC. In addition to teaching, I continue to keep up my bedside skills as an OPT staff RN at Froedtert.

My husband, Ben, and I live in Hartford and have two children: Caden and Liam. We enjoy watching our two boys be involved in various academic and athletic activities throughout the year. Ben serves as principal at Peace Lutheran School in Hartford where we are members of Peace Lutheran Church.
