Diagnostic Medical Sonography Advising Information

Information specific to the diagnostic medical sonography program is provided below. The full course catalog, policies, textbook information, and major declaration form are available from the Office of the Registrar. For additional advising information, contact your academic advisor. Course offerings are subject to change due to staffing, curriculum changes, or course enrollment numbers.

  • Students majoring in Allied Health are exempt from the residency requirement during their clinical internship (years 3 and 4 for diagnostic medical sonography majors). If students wish to live on campus during their clinical internship, they may apply through the Director of Residence Life.

Students who choose to live off-campus during their clinical internship are encouraged to continue participation in a wide range of campus events (attend athletic competitions, chapel services, guest lecture series, musical concerts, plays, and other social events). However, they will not be eligible to participate in intercollegiate sports due to scheduling conflicts, nor will they have access to on-campus health services or IT support as they will no longer be charged student support or health fees.

For the vast majority of students tuition and scholarships will remain unchanged during clinical internship training, however students who receive tuition remission (i.e. children of faculty/staff at WLC) will be asked to pay a minimum of $7,500 per year tuition.
