Fine Arts Opportunities and Scholarships
Fine Arts Opportunities
Wisconsin Lutheran College gives students many opportunities to participate in the arts, regardless of their major.
Fine Arts Scholarships
Are you applying for admission to Wisconsin Lutheran College? Your artistic talents could help reduce your education costs. Whether you plan to major or minor in Art, Music, or Theatre, or you prefer to participate in the Fine Arts while majoring in other academic areas, you are eligible to apply for Fine Arts Scholarships.
These renewable scholarships may be given in addition to other academic scholarships that the college offers. However, recipients may receive only one Fine Arts Scholarship. Incoming freshmen and transfer students entering during the fall semester are eligible for these awards. Visit the web page for each scholarship (art, music, theatre) for complete eligibility requirements and audition/portfolio information.
Art Scholarships worth $1,000 (renewable annually) are available to incoming WLC students with artistic abilities who are interested in any or all areas of art.
Submit the application, along with your portfolio, by FEBRUARY 10, 2014. For complete instructions and an application, visit wlc.edu/artscholarship.
Music Scholarships worth up to $3,360 (renewable annually) are available to incoming WLC students with vocal, instrumental, and accompanying talent. The scholarship application deadline is FEBRUARY 10, 2014. For complete instructions and an application, visit wlc.edu/musicscholarship.
Audition dates are Saturday, FEBRUARY 1, 2014, Saturday, FEBRUARY 8, 2014, and Saturday, FEBRUARY 22, 2014. All auditions will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in either the Schwan Concert Hall or the Wolf Rehearsal Hall.
Theatre Scholarships worth $1,000 (renewable annually) primarily are awarded to students who intend to pursue an academic program as a Theatre major or minor (Theatre, Theatre Education). Scholarships occasionally are awarded to students who do not intend to pursue a major or minor in Theatre but who can commit, as a priority, to significant participation in the production aspects of the department. The scholarship application deadline is FEBRUARY 22, 2014.
A "Theatre Scholarship Day" is scheduled for the morning of Saturday, February 22, 2014, in the college's Raabe Theatre in the Center for Arts and Performance. Applicants should reserve a 20-minute slot and plan to arrive prior to the slot; allow for the possibility of running late. Students also may schedule auditions with the WLC Music Department on that day.
Applicants instead may arrange for an on-campus audition/interview any time before February 22, 2014, provided the faculty is available. For complete instructions and an application, visit wlc.edu/theatrescholarship.
