Students participate in service-learning experience in Hungary

In the summer of 2004, early childhood education majors Nicole Drager, '05, Hope Nolte, '05, Melanie Drska, '05, and Liz Hoctritt, '05, traveled to Pecs, Hungary, to meet with the reading specialists there and share models how we teach literacy in the United States. Additionally, they secured funding for books and materials for needy schools in that region.

For the past 10 years, WLC has partnered with Hungarian educators and students from the early childhood through secondary education program. WLC practitioners and pre-service teachers celebrate the diversity of educational philosophies, teach English camp, and share their faith in this international service-learning experience.
