Helpful Hints: Things You Should Know

  • How to get into the Education Department!!!

  • The Instructional Materials Center (IMC) is a wealth of resources available to education students at WLC. It is located at the top of the stairs in the Schwan Library. These resources include textbooks, children's literature, math manipulatives, big books, and a die cut machine.

  • Always be sure to take the time to ask a librarian if you need help finding a book. If you cannot find a book through our library system, you can always try local public libraries. To obtain a card from one of these libraries, be sure to take your WLCard and a piece of mail addressed to your WLC address.

  • The best place to find out about upcoming events in FTEA is the bulletin board in L052. Here you can also find contact information for the officers, weekly officer meeting minutes, and pictures from our most recent events.

  • The lesson plan form can be found on WLC's Education web page or paper copies can be obtained from the Education wing in the G building. You can also find extra clinical forms in the Education wing.

  • You will need to SAVE EVERYTHING! You never know when something will be useful for your portfolio or for your future classroom.

  • The Wisconsin Model Academic Standards are your best friend. Become very familiar with these standards and practice navigating the website.
