Call for Nominations: Provost of Wisconsin Lutheran College
Wisconsin Lutheran College seeks candidates for its next Provost beginning July 1, 2025. The Provost is the Chief Academic Officer of the College and provides primary administrative leadership, direction, and evaluation for faculty affairs. The Provost reports to the President and supervises Deans and certain academic and non-academic administrators and professional and support staff. The Provost is a member of the President’s Cabinet and Operations Committee.
- Works in collaboration with the various members of both bodies to carry out the academic, operational, financial, advancement, and student life affairs for the College.
- Displays a strong Lutheran Christian worldview and ministry mindset by instilling a sense of Christian mission/vision/values and servant leadership in academics.
- Leads through strong personal integrity in carrying out all the duties of the role.
- Along with the President, provides institutional vision and governance by building trust among all constituencies of the College.
- Serves as a change agent by driving continuous improvement of academic offerings and processes.
Qualifications include:
- An earned terminal degree from an accredited school.
- Academic credentials consistent with the rank of professor.
- Academic administrative experience at the Dean level or higher.
- Other qualifications, skills, and abilities as outlined in the full position description.
This is a called administrative position. Candidates must be active male members of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS), the Evangelical Lutheran Synod (ELS), or another confessional Lutheran denomination in fellowship with the WELS.

This Call for Nominations will remain active until a call is extended and accepted. Qualified candidates will be contacted by the search committee beginning in late summer 2024 with an initial call to be extended by October 1, 2024.
