Sending Christian Leaders into the World

MILWAUKEE, WI - As Wisconsin Lutheran College's spring semester came to a close on May 15, about 200 traditional undergraduate students, adult accelerated degree program students, and graduate students joined the ranks of Warriors alumni.

  • Due to the ongoing pandemic, the spring commencement service, originally planned for May 16, was moved to August 29.

  • Students who completed their degree requirements in the spring semester graduated from WLC in May as planned. Diplomas will be mailed by the Office of the Registrar when they are ready.

  • May 2020 graduates have been invited to take part in either the August or December 2020 commencement service. They also were given the option of having their caps and gowns mailed to them so they could hold celebrations with their families.

  • Cords for academic honors and military service will be distributed on commencement day.

  • Digicopy, a WLC Believe in the Green partner, is selling WLC grad yard signs. Customize a sign with your grad's name and major or degree. The Warriors Fan Shop offers diploma frames; see details in the flyer (pdf).

  • Emily Frey '20, who is graduating with degrees in secondary education and biology, was selected by her classmates to be the student speaker at August commencement. She grew up in South Milwaukee and attended Wisconsin Lutheran High School. At WLC, Emily worked in the Office of Student Life and was secretary of the Future Teacher Education Association. She was a 2019 recipient of the Sharon A. Schoeneck Christian Women's Leadership Scholarship.

  • Details about the August service - including additional commencement speakers - will be published once the pandemic situation stabilizes.
