Warriors Host December 8 Doubleheader Against Dominican

The Wisconsin Lutheran men's and women's basketball programs continue their 25th season Saturday night when they host Dominican UniversIty in Northern Athletics Conference doubleheader at the Recreation Complex.

The women's game features the Warriors (3-3 overall, 2-0 NAC) against DU (0-6 overall, 0-2 NAC) at 5:00 p.m. WLC's Emily Laete (17.3 points per game) and Britany Lindert (15.5 ppg) are among the top 10 scorers in the conference. Lindert also owns the highest free throw percentage in the NAC, connecting on 22 of 23 (.957).

The Stars rank second in the league in scoring at 70.2 ppg, but also allow the most points at 82.8. Jessica Salinas leads DU with a 19.7 scoring average.

The nightcap begins at 7:15 p.m. with the high-scoring Warriors (3-2 overall, 0-1 NAC) against the  Stars (3-3 overall, 1-1 NAC). WLC leads the league in scoring at 85.8 ppg, while Dominican has one of the toughest defenses and gives up just 67.0 points per game.

The Warriors, who lead the conference in free throw percentage (.739), feature the NAC's leading scorer in senior Marcus Zondag with 23.4 ppg while Kyle Plath is fourth at 18.2 ppg.

Meanwhile Dominican's defense is led by senior Mike Haiduc is recording the best rebounding average (9.5) and blocked shots (2.33) in the league.

Tune into AM540 WRRD "The Word" or log on to listen live to all the action. The pre-game show for the women's game begins at 4:45 p.m. and the broadcasting will air straight through until the end of the men's game.
