MILWAUKEE – Wisconsin Lutheran College junior outfielder Chris Glasel (Appleton, Wis./Fox Valley Lutheran) has been named to the first-annual All-America team, which was released today by the website.

Glasel, who was selected to the Honorable Mention team, was one of three players from the Northern Athletics Conference to comprise the forty-eight player team.

“It was great to see Chris put in the effort to become a better hitter all year and have him realize the results,” stated Head Coach Brook Smith. “He did exactly what we hoped he would in the leadoff spot. This is truly an honor for our program as well as the entire athletic department.”

Posting a .494 batting average, Glasel finished the 2007 season with the highest batting average in NCAA Division III. An All-NAC selection, he recorded an on-base percentage of .571 and a slugging percentage of .551. In 27 games, Glasel tallied 44 hits and scored 16 runs, while only striking out six times.
