Choirs present Christmas Festival Concert at WLC

MILWAUKEE – The Wisconsin Lutheran Choir, Chamber Choir and Chapel Choir present the 2009 Christmas Festival Concert December 4-5 at 8 p.m. and December 6 at 3 p.m. in the Schwan Concert Hall.
The 2009 Christmas Festival Concert opens with A New Magnificat by Carolyn Jennings. The text "My Soul Magnifies the Lord, and My Spirit Rejoices in God My Savior," taken from Luke 1, is the theme and inspiration for the festival concert. Other selections include Handel's And The Glory Of The Lord, Our Father by Alexander Gretchaninof, and the thrilling Estampie Natalis by Vaclav Nelhybel.
The Chapel Choir, a women's choral ensemble, will present carols and anthems by Holst, Rutter, Shaw, and Clasen. The Chamber Choir will perform "A German Christmas," eclectic arrangements of familiar carols. The festival concludes with the Wisconsin Lutheran Choir's joyous interpretation of Angels We Have Heard on High, arranged by Mack Wilberg.
