MILWAUKEE – The Wisconsin Lutheran College theatre department presents The Seagull on November 6-8 and November 12-14, 2009. All performances take place in the Raabe Theatre. The Sunday, November 8 show is at 3 p.m., while all others take place at 8 p.m.

This classic theatre production is about struggle. On one hand, it is about the struggle for new artistic forms and the accompanying frustrations and fulfillments of putting words on a page while the other hand it is about human struggle to communicate, to find contentment, and to give and receive love. A Russian country estate serves as the Petri dish in which the struggles of Chekhov’s characters mutate and multiply in both comic and tragic proportions.

The Raabe Theatre is located in the Center for Arts and Performance, 8815 West Wisconsin Avenue. Tickets are $10 general, $8 senior and $6 students and may be purchased through the box office at (414) 443-8802 or visit wlc.edu/arts.

Wisconsin Lutheran College is a nationally ranked, residential, private liberal arts college with an enrollment of 784 students located in western Milwaukee on the Wauwatosa border.
