MILWAUKEE – ArtsPower National Touring Theatre's beloved Laura Ingalls Wilder will perform at Wisconsin Lutheran College on Sunday, October 18, 2009, at 3 p.m. in the Schwan Concert Hall as a part of the Guest Artists Family Series.
Based on Wilder's own childhood experiences, which she began recording in her 60s, this original musical delights young audiences with the adventures of a young girl and her family. Laura and her family travel across America in search of a place they can call home. Facing obstacles such as scarlet fever and eviction from their land, their pioneering spirit and family bonds are tested, but never broken. This uplifting story of one of America's most beloved authors comes to life in ArtsPower's popular musical.
Laura Ingalls Wilder is sponsored in part by the Wisconsin Arts Board and Waterstone Bank. The Schwan Concert Hall is located in the college's Center for Arts and Performance at 8815 W. Wisconsin Ave. Tickets are $10 general, $8 seniors and $6 students. To purchase tickets, call the WLC box office at (414) 443-8802 or visit wlc.edu/arts.
Since 1996, the Wisconsin Lutheran College Center for Arts and Performance has been providing a comprehensive program of performing and visual arts and educational and community events for students and the people of southeastern Wisconsin.
