MILWAUKEE – For the eighth consecutive year, U.S.News & World Report ranked Wisconsin Lutheran College as one of America's Best Colleges. Wisconsin Lutheran College is listed in the top three tiers of liberal arts schools for the third straight year.

For 2010, the magazine ranked the top 249 liberal arts colleges. The liberal arts classification is defined as focusing almost exclusively on undergraduate education and awarding at least 50 percent of degrees in the art and science fields. Other factors considered in the ranking include graduation rate, ACT percentile, class size, and percentage of full-time faculty.

In addition, Forbes.com recently released its 2009 rankings of America's Best Colleges, compiled by Forbes and the Center for College Affordability and Productivity (CCAP). The CCAP ranked 600 undergraduate institutions based on the quality of the education they provide, the experience of the students, and how much they achieve.

Wisconsin Lutheran College moved up in the second-annual Forbes list, climbing to number 128 of 600 schools, from number 162 of 569 schools in 2008.

Forbes.com released a new ranking this year, the CCAP/Forbes 200 Best Value Colleges, comparing school quality to cost. Wisconsin Lutheran College ranked number 18 among Best Value Colleges in the Midwest and number 124 nationally.

"It's truly an honor to be named among the top three tiers of liberal arts colleges for the third year by U.S.News & World Report," said Wisconsin Lutheran College president Daniel Johnson. "And to have moved up in the Forbes.com ranking also is wonderful news. God continues to bless this amazing college. Our students, who remain the reason that we exist, also are the ones through whom we are setting the standard for Christian academic excellence and servant leadership. That's our focus, and we're very pleased that it is apparent and measurable."
