WISCONSIN LUTHERAN INAUGURATES DANIEL JOHNSON AS THIRD PRESIDENT

MILWAUKEE – Daniel W. Johnson, Ed.D., will be inaugurated as the third full-time president of Wisconsin Lutheran College on Friday, April 24, 2009.  The ceremony will be held on campus, 8800 W. Bluemound Rd., in the Recreation Complex, at 2 p.m.

Johnson has served in multiple levels of education during the past 20 years. Most recently, he served as the head administrator at Arizona Lutheran Academy, Phoenix, Ariz., for nine years before accepting the position at Wisconsin Lutheran. While there, his leadership was marked by innovation and success built on community focus, outreach, and meeting institutional needs through creative private and public partnerships. During his tenure, Arizona Lutheran Academy achieved record enrollment, balanced budgets, and increased financial support.

Johnson holds a bachelor's degree from Dr. Martin Luther College, New Ulm, Minn., and a master's degree in curriculum and instruction from National-Louis University in Chicago. He earned his doctorate from Nova Southeastern University, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.

Johnson grew up in Illinois and Arizona, and is a lifelong active member of Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod, the church body with which Wisconsin Lutheran College is affiliated. He and his wife, Jana, have three children.
