Wisconsin Lutheran College Concert Band to present Spring Concert

MILWAUKEE – The Wisconsin Lutheran College Concert Band presents its Spring Concert on Friday, May 1 in the Schwan Concert Hall at 8 p.m.
Under the direction of Professor Terry Treuden, the band presents a number of familiar songs that are most recognizable, including George Gershwin's Strike Up the Band and selections from Les Miserables, both arranged by Warren Barker. In addition, the program will include Fantasy on Childhood Songs, a clever arrangement that includes Pop Goes the Weasel, I’m a Little Teapot, The Mulberry Bush, Row Your Boat, London Bridge, Ten Little Indians, Merrily We Roll Along and The Farmer In the Dell. The band will also perform an arrangement of American favorites entitled An American Songbook.
Student conductor Jennifer Falk will make her debut by directing David Del Tredici’s Acrostic Song. Senior vocal major Jessica Gromacki will be the featured soprano soloist on Bernard Gilmore's Five Folk Songs for Soprano and Band.
The Schwan Concert Hall is located in the college's Center for Arts and Performance, 8815 W. Wisconsin Ave. Tickets are $5 general, $4 seniors and $2 students and may be purchased through the box office at (414) 443-8802 or online at wlc.edu/arts.
