MILWAUKEE – Swing Nouveau heats up the stage as the first performance of the 2008 Summer Arts in the Park free concert series at Wisconsin Lutheran College on Thursday, June 12 at 6:30 p.m.
This 15-piece “big band” from Milwaukee formed in 1997 with the intent of bringing hip sounds of swing to audiences as it was intended to be heard – hot, live and with power and energy. They perform swing style music from the ’30s, ’40s, ’50s and ’90s.
Summer Arts in the Park takes place at 8800 West Bluemound Road on the campus courtyard located between Bluemound Road and Wisconsin Avenue at 89th Street. The concert will be held indoors if raining. Food and beverages will be available for purchase starting at 5 p.m. Wisconsin Lutheran College is an alcohol-free campus.
