Wisconsin Lutheran College choirs offer spring concert

MILWAUKEE – The Wisconsin Lutheran Choir, Chamber Choir and Chapel Choir will perform a spring concert of American songs Friday, April 25, at 8 p.m. in the Schwan Concert Hall. Tickets are $5 general, $4 seniors and $2 students and may be purchased through the box office at (414) 443-8802 or online at wlc.edu/arts.
With the Americana theme, the Chamber Choir performs selections from Old American Songs, adapted by Aaron Copland, arranged by Irving Fine. The Wisconsin Lutheran Choir program includes Sourwood Mountain arranged by John Rutter, Beautiful River arranged by William Hawley, Didn't My Lord Deliver Daniel? arranged by Moses Hogan and Credo from Gospel Mass, Robert Ray. The Chapel Choir will sing Gloria! by Linda Spevacek, Americans West arranged by Neil A. Johnson and American Anthem arranged by Gary Fry to name a few.
The Wisconsin Lutheran Choir and Chamber Choir perform under the direction of Dr. James Nowack. Ms. Carolyn Fons directs the Chapel Choir. The Schwan Concert Hall is located in the college’s Center for Arts and Performance, 8815 W. Wisconsin Ave.
