Wisconsin Lutheran College 2008 Senior Thesis Art Exhibition Opens April 11

MILWAUKEE – Beginning Friday, April 11, the graduating art majors at Wisconsin Lutheran College present a final thesis exhibition. The nine seniors will display a variety of artwork, including photography, painting, sculpture and mixed media. Work will be on display in several campus buildings including the Campus Center, Marvin M. Schwan Library and the Center for Arts and Performance. An opening reception April 11 from 6-8 p.m. will kick off this exhibition which runs through May 10.
The exhibition includes: Ben Tollefson Sorrow/Candy/Blue/Delight – expressive figurative work in acrylic, sculpture and mixed media; Randi Seiler Taking a Rest Pause – acrylic and oil paintings focusing on people and their places of escape; Shannon Winslow Creatures; Whimsies of Daydreams and Nightmares – mythological creatures in clay, paint and wire; Angela Laehn A Panorama of Pattern – acrylic paintings on illustration board inspired by patterns around the world ; Rachel Doege Eau De Toilet; Take a Seat – Restroom-themed oil paintings; Heather Kollmansberger Botanical Bliss – botanical studies in watercolor and acrylic; Rachael Schuman Another Place and Time – holga photography of old buildings and forgotten places; Alicia Wierschke im·print – block prints and etchings depicting personalities; and Valerie Kohler Salad of the Sea –watercolor and printmaking depicting the sea and its creatures.
