Wisconsin Lutheran College Fifth Annual Warrior 5K through the park
Date Posted: September 18, 2007
Milwaukee – The Fifth Annual Warrior 5K ...through the park will once again be held at Greenfield Park in West Allis on Saturday, November 3 at 10 a.m.
One of the only 5K cross-country style races open to the public in Southeastern Wisconsin, the Warrior 5K is a fund-raiser for the Wisconsin Lutheran College cross country teams. Last year, more than 150 runners competed in this scenic run in early November.
"This is a great event for runners of all ages,” says Steve Travis, head cross country coach at Wisconsin Lutheran College and race director. “It’s a great opportunity for the recreational runner to participate in a 5K on grass and trails rather than on the road, for high school runners looking to get another shot at a cross country course before heading into winter training and new this fall we are encouraging walkers to join in the fun."
The 2007 Warrior 5K ...through the park is slated to begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 3. Register on-line by Oct. 31 at wlc.edu/athletics/cc/, $12 individual and $48 per team. Day of the race registration will also be available from 8:30 a.m. - 9:45 a.m., $14 individual and $56 per team. The race will begin on the southwest corner of Greenfield Park in West Allis in front of Pavilion 3A. Parking is available in the adjacent parking lot.
