Wisconsin Lutheran College Adds Nursing Program

Date Posted: September 4, 2007

Milwaukee – After receiving approval from the Wisconsin Department of Regulation and Licensing, Board of Nursing, Wisconsin Lutheran College will be admitting nursing applicants starting the fall semester of 2008.

Nursing majors will be challenged by clinical experiences in a host of settings in the Milwaukee area, including nearby Froedtert Hospital and Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. As part of their preparation in a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, they’ll receive a solid liberal arts education in a Christian setting that will lay the foundation for many career options in health care.

“With the growing need for more nurses, as well as the critical need for more nurse educators, we are enthusiastically starting this nursing program. The Christian liberal arts program within the framework of servant leadership will produce excellent nursing candidates," says Rebekah Carey, director of nursing at Wisconsin Lutheran.  “It has been such a privilege to experience firsthand the widespread community support for our new Nursing program.”
