Jeffrey Siegel Presents a Musical Travelogue at Wisconsin Lutheran College
Date Posted: August 28, 2007
MILWAUKEE – American pianist Jeffrey Siegel opens the Wisconsin Lutheran College Keyboard Conversations Series on Wednesday, September 26, 2007. The performance begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Schwan Concert Hall.
Siegel’s enthusiasm is contagious, his credentials are world-class and his virtuosity is astounding. His performances begin with an insightful and entertaining prologue on the music and its composer, are followed by a full performance of the works and end with a lively question and answer session.
This year Siegel’s Keyboard Conversations will embark on a musical travelogue – four full concerts with the stories behind the music’s creation. The first stop on the way is “America the Beautiful,” from patriotic tunes of Gottschalk to jazzy blues of Gershwin to music of Leonard Bernstein, Aaron Copland and Scott Joplin.
Jeffrey Siegel is sponsored in part by the Wisconsin Arts Board and Wauwatosa Savings Bank. The Schwan Concert Hall is located in the college’s Center for Arts and Performance at 8815 W. Wisconsin Ave. Tickets are $31 general, $28 seniors and $10 students. To purchase tickets, call the WLC box office at (414) 443-8802 or visit wlc.edu/arts.
Since 1996, the Wisconsin Lutheran College Center for Arts and Performance has been providing a comprehensive program of performing and visual arts and educational and community events for students and the people of southeastern Wisconsin.
