High schools participate in Wisconsin Lutheran College Jazz Festival and concert

MILWAUKEE - More than 200 high school instrumentalists and their directors will attend Wisconsin Lutheran College's seventh annual Jazz Festival February 10 and 11. This two-day event culminates in a joint performance at 2 p.m. February 11 in the college's Recreation Complex.

The February 11 concert will include performances by 11 schools and will feature a variety of music including: "The Way You Look Tonight" by Dorothy Fields and Jerome Kern; "Channel One Suite" by Buddy Rich; "Shake, Twist, and Jump" by Erik Morales; and "Theme from Family Guy" by Walter Murphy.

Participating high schools include: Brookfield East High School (Brookfield); Fox Valley Lutheran High School (Appleton); Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School (Jackson); Luther High School (Onalaska); Luther Preparatory School (Watertown); Manitowoc Lutheran High School (Manitowoc); Michigan Lutheran High School (St. Joseph, Mich.); Shoreland Lutheran High School (Somers); West Lutheran High School (Plymouth, Minn.); Winnebago Lutheran Academy (Fond du Lac); and Wisconsin Lutheran High School (Milwaukee).

The Jazz Festival concert is free and open to the public. The Recreation Complex is located at 8725 W. Wisconsin Avenue.
