Burning River Brass presents an evening of power and virtuosity at Wisconsin Lutheran College

MILWAUKEE - Burning River Brass opens the 2006-07 Classic Series at Wisconsin Lutheran College Friday, October 13 at 8 p.m. in the Schwan Concert Hall. Comprised of 12 of the finest brass and percussion players in the country, Burning River Brass has been dazzling audiences since 1996 with power and virtuosity, harmonious blend and consistently stirring performances.  The program will include: "Of Knights and Castles" from Divertimento by Raymond Premru; "Fugue" by Bach and "Incidental Music" by Dmitri Shostakovich, both arrange by Burning River Brass member Feza Zweifil; "Cinematic Brass" by Anthondy DiLorenzo; and "Hungarian Goulash" from A la Carte by Goff Richards.

Burning River Brass strives to present a variety of music that audiences find entertaining and which the ensemble enjoys playing. Their repertoire includes fresh arrangements of classical literature as well as original works written specifically for the group. Burning River Brass has been heard on National Public Radio's Performance Today and Sunday Baroque as well as radio stations throughout the United States and abroad.

The Burning River Brass concert is sponsored in part by the Wisconsin Arts Board. The Schwan Concert Hall is located in the college's Center for Arts and Performance at 8815 W.
