Leahy's Luck offers a taste of Ireland for Summer Arts in the Park at Wisconsin Lutheran College

July 19, 2006

MILWAUKEE - Leahy's Luck, one of Milwaukee's most popular Irish bands, will perform for Wisconsin Lutheran College's Summer Arts in the Park free, outdoor concert series Thursday, August 10 at 6:30 p.m. Formed in 1991 by merging two families into a traditional Irish band, Leahy's Luck continues to offer exciting performances for venues and festivals throughout the Midwest including the Quad Cities' Erin Feis, Chicago's Gaelic Park, Cleveland's Irish Fest and the worlds largest Irish festival - Milwaukee's Irish Fest.

In everything Irish is the love of life, and Leahy's Luck manages to convey this spirit in their music. As the Leahy children have moved on to other career aspirations, family friends have joined the band but the nucleus remains the same with Brian and Tom Leahy continuing to lead with guitars, bass and distinctive vocals. Special guests for the August 10 performance include Randal Harrison on fiddle and Stas Venglevski on bayan accordion.

Summer Arts in the Park takes place at 8800 West Bluemound Road on the campus courtyard located between Bluemound Road and Wisconsin Avenue at 89th Street. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Please bring your own lawn chair or blanket. The concert will be held indoors if raining.
