Milwaukee artist Katheryn Corbin unveils "Primavera" at Wisconsin Lutheran College

January 9, 2006

MILWAUKEE - "Primavera," a show featuring Milwaukee artist Katheryn Corbin's newly created paintings on canvas and clay, opens at Wisconsin Lutheran College January 20 with a reception for the artist beginning at 6 p.m. The show runs through February 17 in the Schlueter Art Gallery.

Corbin's current works combine canvas painting and sculpture. "I am creating a discourse between the figurative form and the canvas," she explains. Her painted clay works feature figures and wall tiles. Corbin uses tin-based majolica glaze, slips and oxides relating object to wall.

Gallery hours are Monday-Saturday 9 a.m.-9 p.m. and Sunday 1-9 p.m. Admission is free. The Schlueter Art Gallery is located in the Center for Arts and Performance at Wisconsin Lutheran College, 8815 W.
