Milwaukee –  Wisconsin Lutheran College (WLC) broke ground on a future student residence hall on Saturday, September 14, 2013. The new residence hall, which will be located on Wisconsin Avenue between 89th Street and 90th Street, will be added in response to the college's growing student enrollment and need for additional on-campus student housing. Construction began this month, with the building scheduled to open prior to the fall 2014 semester.

"We are grateful to God for the blessing of a new student residence hall," said Dr. Daniel W. Johnson, President of Wisconsin Lutheran College. "This new building will allow WLC to provide a quality, Christ-centered residential life experience for a growing number of students."

Wisconsin Lutheran College's new residence hall will replace four college-owned apartment buildings located at 8903 W. Wisconsin Avenue, 8911 W. Wisconsin Avenue, 8919 W. Wisconsin Avenue, and 8927 W. Wisconsin Avenue. The six-story, mixed-use building will feature five floors of residential housing, street-level classroom space, and indoor/outdoor parking. When completed, up to 211 students will occupy the 54 apartment-style units, which will be primarily comprised of 2-bedroom/2-bathroom market-rate units. The new residence hall will be owned by a third-party entity (8800 Concord, LLC) and will be managed and maintained by Wisconsin Lutheran College.
