Concert Band announces 2012 Great Lakes Tour

MILWAUKEE – The Wisconsin Lutheran College Concert Band, under the direction of Prof. Terry S. Treuden, will kick off its 2012 Great Lakes Tour with a home concert Friday, May 11 at 8 p.m. in the Schwan Concert Hall. The tour continues May 21-24 with stops in Michigan and Ohio.
The band's 2012 tour program opens with Montana Fanfare by Austrian composer Thomas Doss. The program includes Sag Harbor Sunset by Robert Sheldon, a piece inspired by the beautiful sunsets along the shores of Long Island. The second half of the program features the music of Duke Ellington and George Gershwin. The program concludes with John Philip Sousa's Liberty Bell March.
The Schwan Concert Hall is located in the college's Center for Arts and Performance, 8815 W. Wisconsin Ave. The home concert is free, but seats need to be reserved through the box office by calling 414.443.8802 or visiting in person.
