Wisconsin Lutheran choirs conclude season May 4
Spring concert features songs from Ireland, Scotland, and England
MILWAUKEE – The Wisconsin Lutheran Choir, Chamber Choir, and Chapel Choir will present their final concert of the 2011-2012 academic year on Friday, May 4 at 8 p.m. in the Schwan Concert Hall.
The Chapel Choir and Chamber Choir will perform the music of Ireland, England, Wales, and Scotland. In 2013, the Wisconsin Lutheran Choir will embark on an international performance tour to England, Wales, and Ireland.
The Chapel Choir, a women's ensemble under the direction of Mrs. Carolyn Fons, will open the concert with such selections as Waillie, Waillie; The Galway Piper, an Irish folk song; and An Irish Blessing.
Under the direction of Dr. James Nowack, the Chamber Choir will perform traditional Irish, Scottish, and Welsh songs, including Loch Lomond, Danny Boy, and All Through the Night.
The Wisconsin Lutheran Choir will perform the Wisconsin premiere of Three Nocturnes for Chorus and Percussion by Dan Forrest.
