WLC Winter Band Concert set for December 9

MILWAUKEE – The Wisconsin Lutheran College Concert Band will present its winter concert on Friday, December 9 at 8:00 p.m. in the Schwan Concert Hall.
Under the direction of Prof. Terry Treuden, the band will perform a wide variety of musical compositions, opening with Verdi's "Triumphal March and Ballet Music" from Aida. This will be followed by The Seal Lullaby, Symphonic Metamorphosis, and Colonel Bogey.
A highlight of the Christmas portion of the concert will be Leroy Anderson's Christmas Festival, which combines tunes from the secular and religious celebration of the holiday. The program concludes with Alfred Reed's Russian Christmas Music, written in November 1944. Students Quinten Petersen and Arik McGathey each will conduct a Christmas piece.
The Schwan Concert Hall is located in the Center for Arts and Performance, 8815 West Wisconsin Ave. Tickets are $6 general, $5 for senior citizens, and $3 for students. To purchase tickets, call the WLC box office at 414.443.8802 or visit wlc.edu/arts.
