Women's basketball team headed to NCAA Division III tournament

MILWAUKEE - Wisconsin Lutheran College will face the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in the first round of the 2011 NCAA Division III Women’s Basketball Championship. The Warriors (25-3) and Eagles (20-7) play Friday, March 4 at 5 p.m. at Illinois Wesleyan University’s Shirk Center in Bloomington, Illinois.
Host Illinois Wesleyan (23-4) will face Webster University (17-10) in the other first round game. The first round winners will meet Saturday, March 5 at 7 p.m.
Admission to each game is $7 for adults and $4 for students. Transportation is available for Wisconsin Lutheran College fans.
Wisconsin Lutheran enters its third NCAA Tournament in school history with a 14-game winning streak. Senior Erika Laete (Spokane, Washington) leads WLC by averaging team highs of 18.6 points and 9.0 rebounds per game. Junior Rachel Johnson (Milwaukee) and sophomore Shavon Dillon (Milwaukee) also average double figures at 12.7 and 10.3 points per game, respectively.
